R&D begins
Home experiments and a simple question: what would a strawberry taste like if it never had to travel?
Learned: flavour needs its own light, climate and agronomy — so the platform would be engineered in-house, end to end.
Agricultural Technologies is building an ultra-fresh produce company through a network of wholly owned farms and joint ventures with regional leaders. Its proprietary full-cycle platform is designed to grow delicate premium crops close to major cities, starting with premium berries.
Six beliefs shape our decisions — from crop selection to capital. The berry, its flavour and the human experience come first; engineering exists to make them repeatable.
For decades the industry optimised delivery. We reverse the task: grow next to the people who eat — in categories where quality is measured in hours.
The market pays a premium for local origin; for import-dependent regions, local production is also a contribution to food security.
Every part of the platform exists for one outcome: a perfect berry, every day.
An ultra-fresh farm near a city is a long-horizon asset with predictable operations — the language of infrastructure, not of venture bets.
Honey bees inside the growing chambers are a visible sign of a biologically functioning growing environment.
CAPEX and OPEX are counted before construction; demand is validated before scale; no promise is made that the production plan cannot close.
Since 2012, the founder and core team have been developing and operating the platform in commercial environments — including a 1,700 m² reference site.
Home experiments and a simple question: what would a strawberry taste like if it never had to travel?
Learned: flavour needs its own light, climate and agronomy — so the platform would be engineered in-house, end to end.
Four generations of hardware, lighting and growing programmes — each designed, built and proven in commercial production.
Learned: reproducibility beats peak results — every component became part of one full-cycle system.
Berries grown on the platform were sold commercially in founder-led operations in Russia.
Learned: the market pays for flavour — the product, not the equipment, defines the company.
An industrial-scale facility built and operated in founder-led operations in Russia.
Learned: industrial discipline is a craft of its own — operating standards became part of the platform.
In founder-led operations in Russia, berries grown on the platform reached federal retail shelves and received independent product-quality recognition.
Learned: premium positioning holds at retail scale — this is a product company, not an equipment vendor.
A facility of the platform’s newest modification — the reference design for the future network.
Next: designed to be replicated market by market with strategic partners.
Premium local production built with regional leaders — the entry point of the international network.
Since 2012, Ilya Tsigvintsev has been solving one question: how to grow a berry worth eating every day of the year, close to the people who eat it.
He led the platform’s development from the first home experiments to industrial production — through four generations of technology, commercial retail supply and the construction of a 1,700 m² production site.
The operational and governance lessons accumulated across real assets now shape Agricultural Technologies: a company built around protected intellectual property, disciplined capital, full-cycle control and long-term partnerships.
“The berries I wanted didn’t exist in stores. So I built the company that grows them.”
Full team biographies are shared in qualified discussions.
“We speak as a company that understands the difficulty of what it is building — and does not need exaggeration to prove that it matters.”
